Stached Polish Lightning Has Struck Collection

Hello friends! Been a bit since I posted, I know. I’ve just been so busy with work and home renovations that I haven’t had a hot second to get many swatches done. Today though, I have a treat for you! Let’s take a look at the Lightning Has Struck collection by Stached Polish, inspired by Harry Potter. This collection releases Sunday, July 31st at 10AM PDT or 12PM CDT over at wwww.StachedPolish.com.

The Gray Lady is a slate grey creme. The formula was a bit sheer on the first coat, but shapes up pretty well with two to three coats. My nails were really long when I swatched these so I required three for full coverage, but if you’re nails are shorter, two would suffice.

Malfoy Manner is a gorgeous polish made of electric blue and fuchsia micro flakies in a grey base. It’s so magical and sparkly on the nail. I used two coats for full coverage.

Undesirable No. 1 is a scattered royal blue holographic with glitter shreds and lightning bolt glitter mixed in. Such a fun and unique shade! I didn’t have any issues getting out the shreds or the lightning bolts, but one or two of the shreds did curl up a touch. I just plucked those ones out and used a thick coat of topcoat for a smooth and glassy surface.

Transfiguration is a warm toned purple packed with blue micro flakies. The flakies are really packed in there, but it’s not overwhelmingly thick. Two coats for even coverage.

Triwizard Champion is a magenta tone on tone micro shimmer polish. This one is so pretty for the upcoming Fall and Summer season. I can just picture it with some leggings and boots and a latte. I’m ready for Summer to be over, if you can’t tell. You’ll want a glossy topcoat to bring out the brilliant shimmer the flakes offer. Two coats!

I’ve saved my favorite for almost last. Yule Ball is a gorgeous silvery blue holographic microglitter with teensy rose pink hexes in a clear base. This one is so versatile! You can wear it alone in two to three coats but it also has the most magical glitter gradient properties. I’m wearing it both ways just to show you. I just love this one!

Lightning Has Struck is the collection’s namesake. It’s a warm, sunny yellow shimmer with a pink flakey glow. I used three thin coats for full coverage, but shorter nails could get away with two I think. So perfect for a transition from Summer to Fall.

This collection has a special place in my heart, as it’s inspired by Harry Potter. Harry Potter has a lot of special meaning to me as I read it simultaneously with my baby sister when I was like 20 and she was 12. They’re all gorgeous but my faves are most definitely Yule Ball, Malfoy Manner and Triwizard Champion.

Reverse Stamping with Rica!

Hello readers! I just finished up a wonderful three day weekend celebrating Indpendence Day here in the US. Today on the blog I have a cute little nail art look that I created using my Uber Chic plates and several polishes. I had a pretty serious break this weekend on my swatch hand so I had to file them back pretty significantly so they’re shortish and square. You don’t quit the claw life, the claw life quits you. I have a few photos stored up of my pretty almonds and then we will have to tolerate the square nails for a time being. But who knows, maybe I’ll learn to love them again.

I can’t even remember what polishes I used beyond the Rica’s Blackout and Belmar. I really enjoy reverse stamping as I find it to be very relaxing, just like grown up coloring.

Stached Polish Birthday Duo

Someone is having a birthday soon! My friend Holly of Stached Polish will be turning 21…for the 7th time next month and she created a fabulous birthday duo to celebrate which she has graciously sent me to swatch and review. I am so excited to show them to you, because quite honestly, they’re fabulous.

21…For the 7th time is a perfect pink. It’s not pastel, but it’s not neon or barbie pink. I’m having a hard time committing to a description, but whatever it is, I love it. The formula is great, a one coater for sure and it applies like a dream. I’m wearing it in two just out of habit with a glossy topcoat.

Birth Yay is a green creme with teal tendencies. The formula is flawlessly creamy, only requiring one coat for full opacity. I did two for the photos, as per usual, followed by a glossy topcoat.

Because Birth Yay was so opaque I decided to give it a chance to stamp, and lo and behold, it stamped wonderfully. This is Birth Yay stamped over 21…For the 7th time with some random Bundle Monster plate from my growing hoard of stamping plates. I even tossed in a macro to show you how sharply this baby stamped.
