Stached Polish: All the Meals Collection

Hello world! Today I have some scrumptious polishes to share with you from Stached Polish that are inspired by the Hobbits from Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. If you’re a fan of the films or books you’re certain to know that Hobbits love to eat, and because of that they partake in their fair share of the meals throughout the day. Without further adieu I present to you the Stached Polish All the Meals collection!

This collection will be available this weekend at The Indie Shop in Torrance, California for those that are lucky enough to be there in person. If you’re stuck at home for work or with your 10,000 children like me, you can score this collection on November 11th at 4PM PST at the Stached Polish website.

I’ll begin with Breakfast and move my way throughout the day. Breakfast is a burgundy brown sparkly holographic. I wouldn’t say that it is a linear holo, but more of a scattered holo look. Two coats gave me full coverage and it dries shiny so if you were so inclined to skip topcoat (egads!) then it will still be shiny. There was no issue with formula whatsoever.

Second Breakfast 2.0 is a gorgeous mint creme with a holographic sparkle that shines every so gently. It leans on the green side of the mint spectrum and it’s practically a one coater. You’ll definitely want to topcoat this one as it does dry down to a matte or satin sheen. Two coats!

Elevenses is a warm rose shade with a soft golden shimmer throughout. The shimmer is quite prevalent in real life, but was a bit hard to capture on film. I used two coats for full coverage but you could probably get away with one if you use a thicker coat and have shorter nails than I do. No formula issues to report here, but you will want some topcoat to make that shimmer pop!

Luncheon is a perfect white creme! It has definitely creeped its way to the top of my white cremes list with its great formula. It is not a one coat wonder, but is opaque in two coats and it’s not patchy AT ALL. I haven’t tried to stamp with it yet, but it’s on my list to try. Please excuse the weird mark on my nail. My topcoat was left open overnight and got fairly gooey and I didn’t have any backups. This is not the fault of the polish at all and I didn’t notice it until I was cropping my pics.

Afternoon Tea is perhaps my favorite of the collection as it is so unique! Is it grey, is it brown!?! It’s hard to tell exactly, but I do love it. I used two easy coats for this and it dried fairly shiny all by itself.

Supper is a mysterious and transformative blurple micro flake/shimmer polish. It appears very blue on my nails and in the photos, but in the bottle it leans more purple to my eye. I used two coats for full coverage and it will definitely require topcoat to for optimal shine.

We hade it all the way to Dinner! Dinner is a not quite forest green holographic with a smidgeon of teal to it. This one is definitely a one coat wonder, even on my nails and with my application which is rare. A coat of topcoat really helps bring out the sparkle.

Zoya Urban Grunge: The Metallics & Holos

Hey guys! This post is LONG overdue, but better late than never I suppose. Today I have the metallics and holos from the Urban Grunge collection by Zoya. This half of the collection has three metallic shades and three scattered holographic shades. They retail for $10 each and are available at Zoya.com, Ulta and select salons near you. I’m going to post the three metallic shades first because frankly, they’re not my favorite type of finish.

Troy is a pewter metallic shade with an edge of black and gold. I used two coats for full coverage and a coat of topcoat. I may use this one in a pedicure soon as my husband loves these types of colors.

Ash is a deep cherry red metallic with on tone and gold shimmer. Two coats with a coat of topcoat for shine. This one is a bit messy during cleanup as it’s fairly pigmented and reds are notoriously hard to clean up if you make even the slightest mistake. I can not imagine myself reaching for this shade ever again.

Britta is a metallic berry color with a fuchsia flash. I used two coats for coverage and a coat of topcoat. Of all the metallics this one would be the only one that I would likely use in a manicure.

Now onto the holos which I LOVE!

Finley is a deep royal purple jelly full of holographic sparkle. I used two coats for full coverage and lots of depth of sparkle. It dried smooth and shiny without topcoat. Just look at it!

Merida (love the name!) is a deep forest green jelly with scattered holographic magic. Again two easy coats that dried smooth and shiny.

Last is Alicia which is my favorite of the entire collection. It’s a silvery, ethereal almost linear holographic with just the tiniest touch of gold. I used three thin coats for full coverage and I’m in love. I’m surprised this one didn’t cause more of a stir in the polish world because it’s so gorgeous.

Shleee Polish Black Moon with Stamping

Happy Friday readers! I promised myself that this October I would wear a new Halloween manicure nearly every day, but so far, I’m letting myself down. This past Sunday I sat myself down and pulled out all of my Halloween polish and stamping plates and came up with this spooky little look.

Shleee Polish Black Moon was not sold specifically as a Halloween inspired polish, but I chose it anyway and find it to be a bit witchy. I used two coats for full and even coverage and had no issues with the formula at all. This shade is so shifty and transformative in the sunlight. I added some creepy crawler stamping images using Rica Whiteout as my stamping polish and a Bundle Monster plate from last year’s Fall/Halloween collection.

Here it is Friday and I’m still wearing this manicure because it’s been a crazy long week both at home and at work. I do have to say that Black Moon has held up remarkably well. I have almost no chips or tip wear.
